Multigrain Pulao

Ingredients:

1/2 cup sprouted wheat dalia

1/2 cup sprouted barley,

2 cup white oeats,

3 cups mixed vegetables (Peas, carrots, cauliflower etc).

1 large onion  chyopped,

2 tomatos chopped,

4 cloves of garlic chopped,

a small piece of ginger grated,

half a spoon of chilly powder,

1 spoon of garam masala powder,

1 spoon of freshly roasted jeera powder,

1 teaspoon of cummin seeds,

salt to taste,

3 tablespoons of oil.

Making

Heat the oil in a pressure pan.. fry the chopped ginger and garlic.until the raw smell goes.  ( You may use ginger garlic paste if you so desire.  But I prefer freshly chopped ginger and garlic) . Now add the  onion and fry until it becomes translucent.

Add the tomatos and cook until they become soft.

Now add the vegetables and saute for a few minutes.

Add the grains and mix them thoroughly with the  vegetables, toss them around for a couple of minutes..

Add, chilly powder, masala powder, Jeera powder and salt
.
Add generous quantiy of water  and close the lid and put the weight and let it cook for a couple of whistles.

Now remove from the fire , lifgt the weight and open the lid. The vegetables would have been cooked but there  still should  be some water left in the dish..

Turn the flame to low and simmer the dish until it reaches the consistancy of a thick porridge. The grains, particularly barley will have a chewy consistancy even after cookin. Enjoy  it hot adding a dollop of ghee to it.
